Here we go again!

Täällä sitä taas tapellaan erilaisten järjestelyjen kanssa, vieläpä aiemmin kuin oli alunperin tarkoitus. Tai no lähtö tulee nopeammin kuin olin alunperin suunnitellut, mutta kun tilaisuuksia tulee eteen pitää niihin tarttua, eikö? Kyllähän sitä ehtikin Suomessa taas olla sen puolisen vuotta. 9kk lähtöön mennessä, jos tarkkoja ollaan.
Siihen pisteeseen on päästy jo, että pahin paperisota on toivottavasti lähes voitettu ja lentoja pitäisi varata. Minne sitä sitten taas ollaan menossa ja miksi? Jälleen suunnataan saarille, koska minne muualle minä lähtisin, en ainakaan mihinkään lämpimään. Maaliskuussa olisi tosiaan tarkoitus suunnata nokka taas kohti Irlantia. Tuttuun paikkaan siis, mutta kaupunki tällä kertaa hieman tuntemattomampi, nimittäin Cork. Kyllähän siellä tuli käytyä viimeksi, mutta siinä ajassa ei kovinkaan syvää tuttavuutta tuohon rebel countyyn vielä kerennyt tekemään.

So here we are again, fighting with all kinds of arrangements. Sooner than I thought. Or well, the departure will be sooner than I had planned, but when opportunities come along you take them aye? And I managed to me in Finland for six months at least. 9 months before I leave again, if being precise.
Organising things has gotten already to a point where most of the paper work is almost done, hopefully, and it's really time to start booking flights. So where am I going this time and why? Well again I'm going to live on an island, like where else would I go, nowhere warm that's for sure. So yeah, in March I'm heading back to Ireland. Familiar place but new city, as this time I'll be set in Cork. I did visit Cork already last year, but can't say I would be too familiar with the rebel county.
Syynähän sitten on harjoittelu. Saan viimein kandin paperit ennen vuoden vaihdetta kouraan, eli oli aika alkaa pohtia maisterivaiheen harjoittelua. Alusta asti tiesin, että Irlantiin se matka taas toivottavasti kävisi, se minne sinne ja mihin hommiin oli auki. Monia sähköposteja tuli läheteltyä ties minne, mutta vastauksia ei sitten kovinkaan sadellut. No lopulta sitten yhdestä paikasta vastattiin, vaikka heille lähetin alunperin vain tarkentavia kysymyksiä avoimena olleesta harjoittelupaikasta. Nopeasti se sitten oli aika lukkoon lyötyä, että Cork kutsuu keväällä.
Opettamisen sijaan lähden tutustumaan vähän muunlaisiin hommiin. Nimittäin lähden toimistoharjoittelijaksi firmaan, joka järjestää harjoitteluja Irlantiin saapuville kansainvälisille opiskelijoille. Tätä ehkä valotan myöhemmin lisää, mutta kiinnostava homma ainakin on luvassa. Hiemanhan tämä tarkoittaa tiettyjen kurssien siirtymistä vuodella, mutta kyllä ne kurssit odottavat.

And the reason why I'm going is an internship that I'll be doing. I'm getting my bachelor's degree before Christmas, so it was time to start thinking Master's phase practice. From the begin I knew I wanted to go back to Ireland. Where I would go and what would I do were a mystery though. This Autumn I've been e-mailing lots of places, but getting very few answers. But finally one company did reply, and at that point I was only asking for clearing questions about the position they offered and about the application process. Quite quickly I had landed the place then and it seemed like Cork was calling me.
Instead of teaching I'll be interning as an office admin, for a company that helps international students to find practice places from Ireland. I'll probably talk more about the internship itself later on, but surely it will be an interesting one. Naturally this meant moving some of my courses forward by a year, but that's alright they can wait.
Nyt edessä on tosiaan kiivasta huoneen metsästystä Corkista. Tämä taitaakin olla huhujen mukaan se vaikein homma, koska asuntotilanne on huono. En jotenkin Dublinin jälkeen ollut tästä tiedosta yllättynyt. Yritän silti luottaa siihen, että kyllä se jokin majapaikka vielä löytyy. Myös omaan kämppään pitää löytää taas alivuokralainen.
Kaiken kaikkiaan mieliala on kuitenkin asuntokikkailuista huolimatta korkealla. Uusi seikkailu kyllä jännittää taas, mutta hyvällä tavalla. Paljon on jo suunnitelmia, mitä haluaa tuon kuuden kuukauden aikana tehdä, mutta toivottavasti saa myös muodostaa ihan sitä perus arkeakin taas.

So now I'm facing intense search for an accommodation in Cork. This is probably the trickiest point of the whole process, as housing situation is bad. After Dublin I wasn't really surprised by this information. But I'll try to keep my hopes high and trust that I'll find some place to land my suitcases. Also facing again the process of searching a suitable sub-renter for my own flat here in Finland.
All in all though I'm in high spirits about all these, even with all the hassle with apartments. New adventure is also making me a bit nervous, but surely that will pass. Got already lot of exciting plans, what to do during my six months stay, but hopefully there is time to enjoy that everyday life too.
